Southern Maryland gives you a little bit of everything when you’re planning a wedding — waterfront views along the Chesapeake and Patuxent, historic properties, family farms, wooded venues, churches, gardens, intimate backyard celebrations, and spaces that somehow feel completely removed from the busyness just north of us.

I photograph weddings throughout St. Mary’s County, Charles County and Calvert County, including Leonardtown, Mechanicsville, Hughesville, La Plata, Solomons, Prince Frederick, Chesapeake Beach and the surrounding Southern Maryland communities.

Knowing this area means I’m thinking about more than where we can stand for portraits.

We’ll consider how the light moves around your venue, when sunset actually works with your timeline, how much travel time we need between locations, where family portraits make the most sense, what happens if Southern Maryland weather changes its mind, and where we can sneak away for ten quiet minutes when the two of you need a moment to simply be together.

Because your wedding day shouldn’t feel like one long photography session.

But some of the images that matter most usually happen between those moments.

Your best friend fixing your veil. Your dad trying not to cry. The look across the aisle. Your grandparents dancing. Your people losing their minds on the dance floor. The two of you laughing because something went completely off-script.

My approach blends documentary storytelling with natural direction when you need it, giving you photographs that feel polished without making your wedding feel staged.

You get to stay inside the moment.
